About the role
EXO Talent Partners is running a confidential, retained search for a Controller to lead the accounting and financial-compliance function of an established, publicly traded aerospace and defense manufacturer on Florida's Space Coast. This is a high-visibility leadership seat with real ownership and a genuine upward path in the finance organization, partnering closely with operations and program leadership across the business. If you have owned a full-scope controllership inside a public, government-contracting environment and you are ready for a bigger seat, this is worth a conversation. What you will own Full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, general ledger, monthly and annual close, and financial reporting integrity. The SOX control environment supporting public-company reporting, working hand in hand with external auditors. Cost accounting and government-contract compliance: Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), the DCMA interface, forward pricing and rate proposals, and incurred-cost work. A substantial accounting organization spanning multiple functions and managers. The budgeting and forward-pricing group, plus cross-functional partnership with operations.
What we are looking for:
7 to 10-plus years of progressive accounting and finance leadership, including time as a Controller who owned the full scope, not stepping into it for the first time. SOX experience from a public-company control environment (required).Government-contracting and defense finance depth: CAS, DCMA, forward pricing, and DFARS (strongly preferred).A track record leading a sizable accounting team. CPA preferred, not required. Deltek Costpoint experience a plus. US citizenship required (US defense programs).Melbourne-area or open to relocation (relocation assistance available).Compensation and logistics Competitive base plus target bonus and relocation assistance, commensurate with experience. Hybrid schedule on Florida's Space Coast (no state income tax) with full benefits.
