Position Summary Information Posting Number Posting Number P2353Job Title Job Title Adjunct Faculty - Anatomy and Physiology Students Only Students Only NoJob Description Summary The primary responsibility of this individual is to provide quality instruction to WWC students enrolled in classes taught at the main campus in Rock Springs. Teaching a course online is a common expectation. This individual must be able to relate to a wide variety of students in the college environment. This individual’s responsibilities will include teaching courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides quality instruction to students in assigned courses, including Anatomy and Physiology. Provides quality instruction in Anatomy and Physiology. lectures and laboratories in traditional daytime offerings, online, and weekends. Provides quality learning experiences for students in accordance with their needs and abilities, while maintaining the basic integrity and appropriate level of rigor in the classroom, as related to the course’s standards and objectives. Provides appropriate and rigorous measures of assessment. States clear objectives and criteria in each course syllabus; follows the Curriculum Committee’s guidelines regarding course syllabi; integrates the appropriate college’s learning goals into each course; and evaluates students’ performance in light of these objectives and criteria. Designs and implements effective learning processes for students, including active approaches to learning; provides feedback on student improvement in attaining the college’s learning goals. Develops learning outcomes and assessment measures for each course taught.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree in Biology, Physiology, or a related field. Evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level substantiated by student evaluations and letters of recommendation. Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, technologies, principles and practices of biology. Evidence of continued professional development. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and administrators. Ability to exercise sound judgment in all facets of the student-teacher relationship and to teach a diverse group of college students. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph. D. in Biology, Physiology, or a related specialty. Interest in developing an undergraduate research program in the biomedical sciences. Active participation in relevant professional organizations. Demonstrated teaching excellence at a college.
