About the role

Powered By Love, an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a Local Gala, Dinner & Auction Chair to serve as the "Master Host" for the celebratory tracks of The 831 Experience. This position is structured as a volunteer leadership role with a project-based stipend of $4,000. Please note that this stipend is strictly contingent upon successful event revenue generation; if the event does not meet its revenue goals, the stipend cannot be paid. Operating on an intensive 4.5-month operational sprint starting June 1st, 2026, the workload follows a phased timeline: Phase 1 requires 3–5 hrs/wk; Phase 2 requires 8–10 hrs/wk; and Phase 3 scales to 20–30 hrs/wk during the October event dates. Expectations include planning the minute-by-minute Nelson Hall Gala choreography on October 17th, coordinating with the band, caterer, and Sanctuary Liaison, and orchestrating the logistical "Run of Show" and A/V setup for the October 12th Sponsor Dinner featuring our guest performer. You will also lead the procurement, cataloging, and interactive mobile bidding checkout (via platforms like Givebutter Plus) for high-value silent and live charity auction items. Additionally, you will recruit and manage a specialized sub-committee of 3–4 volunteers to achieve an auction fundraising target of $10,000+.
Qualifications include: 2+ years in upscale event planning, catering logistics, or charity auction management, strong digital platform proficiency, and a commitment to high-dignity community care.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
