As a Senior Cloud DevSecOps Engineer, you will independently design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-based software applications and deployment infrastructure supporting mission-critical systems. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to implement secure, scalable, and automated cloud solutions, contribute to software architecture and deployment strategies, and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable software and infrastructure. This position requires an active/current Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).What You'll Do:Independently design, develop, test, enhance, and maintain cloud-native software applications and supporting cloud infrastructure and deployment platformsDesign, implement, and optimize secure cloud architectures, application security controls, and deployment solutions supporting mission-critical applications.Build, maintain, and automate CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and containerized deployment environmentsCollaborate with software, systems, operations, cybersecurity, and infrastructure engineers to integrate cloud-native solutions throughout the software development lifecycleSupport software integration, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and sustainment activitiesBuild, maintain, and improve software build environments, automated testing, and deployment processes as appropriateParticipate in Agile/Scrum planning activities, sprint execution, backlog refinement, and software release planningMaintain accurate project status, technical documentation, and issue tracking using approved development toolsFollow established engineering processes including configuration management, change control, risk management, software quality, and secure development practicesClearly communicate technical concepts, project status, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholdersIdentify opportunities to improve software quality, team processes, automation, and overall engineering efficiencyProvide technical guidance and knowledge sharing within the engineering teamWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline8+ years of professional software development experience developing production-quality software throughout the full software development lifecycleExperience with AWS EKS/Kubernetes and automated container deploymentsExperience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools alternativesExperience with Vault/AWS Secrets Manager or other alternativesProficiency with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud servicesExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab or alternatives) and deployment automationExperience developing scalable, maintainable, and well-tested softwareExperience using source control, issue tracking, and collaborative development toolsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topicExperience working within Agile software development environmentsHave confidence and be able to easily buildrelationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your teamPossess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions andcome up without-of-the-box solutionsBe proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with othersCapable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are metThings That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:Knowledge of infrastructure automation and cloud networking conceptsFamiliarity with DevSecOps principles and secure software development practicesProficiency with Infrastructure as Code toolsKnowledge of application security principles, vulnerability assessment, and secure coding practices (i.e. certificate injections, token validation)Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)Familiarity with security analysis tools such as Fortify, SonarQube, or similar platformsAWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certificationFamiliarity with Linux operating systems and Bash scriptingWe'll also need you to:Be a U.S. CitizenWork Environment:This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
