5th Axis is seeking a temporary, part-time Talent Acquisition Specialist to support recruiting across manufacturing operations in San Diego, CA (onsite).
Responsibilities: Source qualified candidates for manufacturing, operations, quality, engineering, technical, supervisory, and support rolesActively engage passive talent using resume databases, direct outreach, professional networks, referrals, and other sourcing channelsPost, maintain, and refresh job advertisements across relevant recruiting platformsReview resumes and applications against position requirements and established hiring criteriaConduct initial phone screens to evaluate experience, qualifications, availability, compensation expectations, location, and overall fitRecommend qualified candidates to move forward in the interview processCoordinate interviews across candidates, HR, hiring managers, and other stakeholdersProvide timely candidate communication, follow-ups, and status updates throughout the recruiting cycleBuild and maintain candidate pipelines for recurring and difficult-to-fill manufacturing rolesReach out to trade schools, colleges, workforce programs, veteran resources, and other talent sourcesMaintain accurate candidate records, recruiting activity, and candidate status in the applicant tracking systemPartner with HR and hiring managers to align on recruiting priorities and keep open roles movingSupport offer and pre-employment coordination as neededTrack recruiting activity, candidate flow, sourcing efforts, and open-position statusProvide a responsive, organized recruiting experience and represent 5th Axis professionallyPerform other recruiting-related duties as assignedRequirementsMinimum 2 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experienceDemonstrated recruiting experience within manufacturing, CNC machining, aerospace, industrial production, or a closely related technical environmentExperience recruiting skilled manufacturing talent (for example: CNC machinists, quality personnel, maintenance technicians, production employees, manufacturing professionals, supervisors, or similar roles) Experience actively sourcing candidates, not only managing inbound applicationsExperience using job boards, resume databases, direct outreach, referrals, networking, schools, and other sourcing channelsAbility to review manufacturing resumes and identify relevant technical, production, and leadership experienceExperience conducting phone screens and making initial qualification decisionsStrong organizational and follow-through skills to manage multiple open positions and candidate pipelinesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently while partnering effectively with HR and hiring managersExperience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, and online recruiting toolsProficiency with Microsoft OfficePaycor experience is a plusBilingual English/Spanish is a plusHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious hands-on recruiting experience in a manufacturing or closely related technical environment is requiredTechnologiesApplicant tracking systemHRIS platformsOnline recruiting toolsMicrosoft OfficePaycorBenefitsEmployee-only base medical coverage at no costCompany-paid life and disability insurance 401(k) with company match up to 5%Paid time off and holidaysPerformance bonus opportunitiesTraining and advancement opportunities A non-corporate manufacturing environmentCompany and team eventsScheduleTemporary, part-time role anticipated at approximately 20–25 hours per weekRegular availability during normal business hours to support candidate outreach, phone screens, interview coordination, and hiring manager communicationLocation: San Diego, CA (onsite) | Pay: USD 35–45 per hour | Education: High school diploma or equivalent | Job Type: part time
