Here, you'll find a place to grow and unlock your full potential.Marketing Accounting is responsible for facilitating communication with Production Accounting and for the settlement and accounting of all activities related to the buying, transporting, storing, and selling of oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (NGLs).This position serves as a key liaison among Commercial, Marketing, Treasury, Production Accounting, Financial Reporting, Planning, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the accurate and timely recording of marketing transactions and compliance with company policies, accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.ResponsibilitiesManage the confirmation, reconciliation, settlement, and financial summary of physical and financial transactions related to the purchase, sale, transportation, and delivery of oil, natural gas, and NGLs.Review commercial agreements, including transportation, gathering, processing, storage, purchase, and sales contracts, to ensure accounting implications and contractual obligations are properly reflected in systems and processes.Review and analyze complex marketing transactions, contracts, and settlements to identify accounting impacts, ensure accurate financial recording, and maintain compliance with accounting policies.Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers, including transportation, gathering, processing, and purchase-related vendors, and support the collection of marketing receivables.Provide the Production/Revenue Accounting team with monthly sales prices, fee rates, and marketing journals used to process current-month revenue and partner and landowner payments through the revenue accounting system.Provide monthly analysis and reports of Marketing activities to the Planning and Financial Reporting teams.Maintain open and aged marketing account balances.Reconcile marketing sales and intercompany balances with related parties.Reconcile and track monthly inventory and imbalance summaries, where applicable.Provide estimated cash receipts and cash splits to the Business Unit and Treasury and explain variances to actuals monthly.Lead monthly accounting close activities, including posting marketing-related accruals, resolving complex reconciling items, completing account analyses for management reporting, and ensuring timely completion of account reconciliations.Mentor and assist other staff members within the group.Identify process improvement opportunities and drive automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls.Support strategic initiatives and new commercial arrangements by providing accounting and operational expertise.Interact professionally and confidently with Marketing Middle Office, Planning, Gas & Power, and Production/Revenue Accounting teams.Support internal and external audits by preparing technical analyses, schedules, and documentation.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting required.Minimum of 7 plus years of accounting experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.Experience interpreting and applying commercial contracts and preparing analyses to respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, and financial data analysis.Strong financial accounting skills, including hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.Demonstrated ability to analyze and reconcile pipeline, truck, and plant statements.Preferred RequirementsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of management and build productive working relationships across functions.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong business acumen and working knowledge of E&P marketing transactions.Collaborative team player.Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation.Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and work independently on complex matters.Repsol is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran
