Role Description: The Director of Financial Services is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing financial advisory and consulting services for Blue Ocean’s clients. This position leads financial analysis, designs and reviews financial models, and provides strategic recommendations on budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation. The director collaborates with consulting teams to integrate financial insights into broader business strategies and supports client presentations, reports, and proposals. Daily tasks include reviewing financial statements, monitoring key performance indicators, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and mentoring team members on financial best practices. The role also involves maintaining strong client relationships, identifying new advisory opportunities, and contributing to the continuous improvement of financial services offerings.
Qualifications: Strong foundation in Finance and Financial Services, with demonstrated experience in leading financial advisory or consulting engagements. Advanced Analytical Skills, including financial modeling, forecasting, and data interpretation to support evidence-based recommendations. Experience in Consulting, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable guidance for clients. Proficiency in Accounting principles and practices, including interpreting financial statements and ensuring accuracy and compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to senior stakeholders. Proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, including mentoring teams and managing client relationships. Comfort working in a remote, part-time environment with strong self-management and organizational skills. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA) are beneficial.
