About the role

Oasis Hospice is seeking compassionate and qualified volunteers to help lead our Grief & Loss Support Groups as part of our bereavement program. This is a meaningful opportunity to support individuals and families navigating the difficult journey of loss by providing a safe, supportive, and understanding environment.

Position Overview: Volunteers will assist in facilitating a monthly grief support group that last about one hour, helping guide conversations, offering emotional support, and ensuring participants feel heard and respected. Who We're Looking For:

We are specifically seeking individuals with experience or training in supporting others through grief, including:
Licensed counselors or therapists
Social workers
Religious or spiritual leaders (pastors, ministers, chaplains, etc.)Bereavement specialists
Individuals with relevant professional or volunteer experience in grief support

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Help facilitate structured group discussions
Provide compassionate listening and emotional support
Maintain a safe, respectful, and confidential environment
Collaborate with hospice staff on group planning and follow-upCommit to attending scheduled monthly sessions

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in counseling, ministry, social work, or related field
Experience working with individuals experiencing grief or loss
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain boundaries and confidentiality
Comfort with virtual platforms (if facilitating online groups)
