About the role
Credit Analyst- Fixed Income Conduct fundamental credit research on a designated portfolio of corporate issuers, including financial statement analysis, capital structure evaluation, covenant review, and assessment of business, industry, and event-driven risks. Develop and present investment recommendations supported by thorough financial analysis, credit underwriting, and scenario-based risk assessments. Identify relative value opportunities across sectors, issuers, and capital structures, and communicate actionable insights to investment decision-makers. Participate in the evaluation of new investment opportunities, including review of offering materials, valuation analysis, and recommendation of appropriate investment strategies. Monitor portfolio holdings and covered issuers on an ongoing basis, evaluating earnings results, rating actions, corporate events, strategic transactions, and evolving market risks. Prepare concise written research and deliver presentations that support investment discussions, portfolio reviews, and risk evaluations. Maintain financial models, comparative analyses, and monitoring tools while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancement. Collaborate closely with investment professionals across research, trading, portfolio management, and risk functions to support portfolio construction, performance monitoring, and client reporting initiatives. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree and/or professional certifications are viewed favorably. Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit research, investment analysis, fixed income investing, corporate finance, banking, or a related analytical discipline. Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate investment recommendations supported by both quantitative analysis and qualitative assessment. Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make well-reasoned decisions in situations involving incomplete or evolving information. Solid foundation in financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, capital structure evaluation, credit analysis, valuation techniques, and risk assessment methodologies. Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis tools; experience with market data and research platforms preferred. Interest in leveraging technology, data analytics, and emerging AI tools to improve research workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance decision-making processes. Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, strong initiative, and the ability to produce high-quality work while managing competing priorities and deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex analyses in a clear, concise, and actionable manner. Collaborative team player with the ability to build productive relationships across investment, research, risk, and operational teams. High level of professionalism, integrity, accountability, and sound business judgment.
