This position combines employee relations, workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance support, HR administration, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is comfortable working closely with plant leadership and employees, managing sensitive issues with discretion, and implementing practical programs that strengthen retention, engagement, and operational effectiveness.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a primary HR partner to employees and leaders, providing guidance on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, performance matters, conflict resolution, and other employee relations needs. Develop and carry out practical retention and workforce initiatives, using employee feedback and business trends to address turnover and improve the employee experience. Lead and support HR team members through clear priorities, coaching, performance feedback, workload coordination, and ongoing development. Coordinate recruiting activities from job posting and candidate screening through interviews, offers, pre-employment steps, and new-hire readiness. Manage onboarding, orientation, employee changes, and separation processes while maintaining accurate and confidential documentation. Maintain HR records, organizational information, position documentation, workforce reporting, and other personnel data needed to support business operations. Provide support for benefits administration, payroll backup, HR systems, audits, compliance activities, and employee questions. Partner with management on performance management, employee development, workforce planning, and consistent application of HR practices. Support employee communications, engagement efforts, workplace programs, and initiatives that promote a productive and respectful culture. Work across supported facilities as needed and remain visible and accessible within an active manufacturing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Progressive Human Resources experience with broad, hands-on responsibility across employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, payroll support, and HR compliance. Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, process-driven, or similarly operational work environments strongly preferred. Demonstrated success improving retention or reducing turnover through measurable, practical workforce strategies. Prior experience supervising, coaching, or leading HR staff preferred. Strong employee relations judgment with the ability to handle confidential, complex, and sensitive workplace situations professionally. Working knowledge of employment practices, HR compliance requirements, and consistent policy administration. Experience using HRIS, payroll, or related employee data systems; strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline preferred; professional HR certification is a plus. Strong communication, organization, prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work primarily onsite and travel between supported facilities or business locations when needed.
BENEFITS:
Direct-hire leadership opportunity with broad ownership of HR operations and the ability to make a visible impact on retention, employee experience, and workplace culture. Opportunity to partner closely with senior HR leadership while leading people initiatives across more than one operating location. Competitive base compensation with potential incentive opportunity based on company plan eligibility. Medical insurance benefits and an employer-supported retirement savings plan. Relocation candidates may be considered for the right fit. Stable, hands-on environment offering exposure to employee relations, workforce strategy, talent acquisition, benefits, payroll support, and team development.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
