About the role
- Safely operate company-provided vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible vehicles
- Transport passengers to and from medical appointments and other approved destinations
- Assist passengers with safely entering and exiting vehicles
- Properly secure passengers, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices
- Follow assigned routes, trips, and dispatch instructions
- Communicate promptly with dispatch regarding delays, schedule changes, or passenger concerns
- Provide courteous, patient, and professional customer service
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete required inspections
- Complete required trip documentation and other assigned records
- Follow all company safety, attendance, and transportation policies
- Must be at least 23 years of age
- Valid driver's license and required Louisiana Chauffeur's/Class D license or qualifying CDLAt least one year of driving experience
- Acceptable driving record
- Must successfully complete required criminal background check and drug screening
- Must be willing to learn to operate wheelchair lifts and properly secure mobility devices
- Must complete required NEMT, CPR, wheelchair, and safety training
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential
- Must be comfortable driving during various times of the day and night
- Knowledge of DeRidder and surrounding areas is preferred
- Previous NEMT, transportation, healthcare, caregiving, or customer service experience is a plus but not required
