About the role

About Executive Career Upgrades Executive Career Upgrades (ECU) helps directors, VPs, and C-suite executives land roles they love, typically at $200k+ and above. We also partner with small and mid-sized businesses on outplacement and separation services, recruiting, leadership development, and training. We are a veteran-owned Inc. 5000 company, recognized as the 48th fastest-growing veteran-owned business in the US and featured in Forbes, Newsweek, and Entrepreneur.
The Role: You will own every dollar ECU spends on paid digital acquisition, and the full funnel it feeds. Our agency partner already delivers a consistent 4–5x return on ad spend. Your job is to protect that performance as spend scales, and to give ECU in-house leadership over strategy, funnels, email, automation, and analytics. You will sit on the executive team, report directly to the CEO, and build the digital marketing team as we grow. Organic social and content are handled by a separate team member and are not part of this role. In your first 12 months, success looks like this:
  • Ad spend scales while blended ROAS holds at or above our current 4–5xEvery funnel stage, from ad click to booked call to closed client, is tracked and reported weekly
  • Email and automation sequences measurably lift lead-to-call and call-to-close rates
  • A clear plan and first hires are in place for an in-house digital team
  • What You'll OwnPaid MediaSet strategy, budget allocation, and testing roadmaps across Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, YouTube, and LinkedInDirect the agency's work: approve campaigns, hold them to performance targets, and reallocate spend based on results
  • Scale Meta, our primary channel, while testing and building new channels profitably
  • FunnelsOwn funnel design end to end: ads, landing pages, lead forms, call booking, and follow-upRun continuous conversion tests on offers, pages, and booking flows
  • Email Marketing and Automation
  • Build and manage nurture, re-engagement, and post-call sequences
  • Connect ad platforms, CRM, and email so every lead is tracked and followed up automatically
  • AnalyticsOwn tracking, attribution, and reporting from first click to closed revenue
  • Report weekly to the CEO and executive team on spend, ROAS, cost per lead, cost per booked call, and customer acquisition cost
  • LeadershipServe on the executive team and shape company growth plans
  • Hire and lead the in-house digital marketing team as ECU scales
  • Support paid acquisition for B2B outplacement and corporate services as that line grows
Requirements:
  • You have personally managed $250,000+ per month in paid ad spend. You owned the budget and the results yourself, rather than supporting someone who did.
  • Hands-on experience across Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and other lead channels 7+ years in performance or digital marketing, including 3+ years leading strategy or a team
  • Proven B2C direct-response experience in lead generation, call booking, or high-ticket sales funnels
  • You have built and run funnels, email marketing programs, and marketing automation
  • Strong analytics and attribution skills; you can trace spend through booked calls to revenue
  • Experience directing an outside agency and holding it accountable to numbers
  • You live within 30 miles of Cool Springs, Tennessee, and can work on-site full time
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in coaching, education, or professional services, especially high-ticket offers ($10K+)B2B paid media experience, particularly LinkedIn lead generation for corporate buyers
  • YouTube advertising experience
  • Experience with CRM and automation platforms such as HubSpot, GoHighLevel, or similar
  • You have built a digital marketing team
  • Comfortable using AI tools to speed up research, creative testing, and reporting
Compensation and Benefits: This key executive role offers an above-market compensation package, including a strong base salary, substantial performance-based bonus opportunities, health benefits, and three weeks of paid vacation. Final compensation will reflect the experience, leadership capabilities, and value the selected candidate brings to the organization. As a member of the executive team, you will directly influence company strategy and have the budget and authority to build and lead your team. We encourage all candidates who meet the qualifications to apply. Our priority is finding the right leader, and we are prepared to offer compensation above fair market value for exceptional talent.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
