Description:
SEVA EHS, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to work at our client’s (DoD) location in Richmond, VA.Email resumes to HR@sevaehs.com$1,000 signing bonus and company profit sharing
Primary responsibilities:
The employee will be responsible for scheduled walk-through and inspections to identify distressed waste stock and spills. The employee shall be responsible for coordinating spill response, cleanup and disposal after obtaining clearance from the first responders/fire department. The employee is also responsible for inspecting above ground storage tanks (SPCC inspections)
Other duties include:
1) Conducting safety inspections to ensure the Hazardous materials are stored properly.2) Conducting monthly/weekly safety inspections as required by the SPCC plans3) Uses HMIS database daily to retrieve Safety Data Sheets.4) Experienced in the operation and usage of Personal Protective Equipment as needed.5) Material Management Skills / Qualifications- Must have a BS in Environment Science/Engineering or equivalent - Appropriate forklift, heavy equipment and/or commercial driver’s license for operating equipment.- Be familiar with federal and Virginia department of environmental quality (VADEQ) regulations concerning hazardous waste.- Completion of a national agency check with acceptable background findings and current proof of US citizenship.- 40-hour hazwoper/29 CFR 1910.120 training course and annual refresher training.- Participation in a medical surveillance program, including random drug screening.
