About the role

Quant Research Python Engineer | NYC Hedge FundWork directly with researchers and portfolio managers building the tools and models that drive live trading decisions. You'll own the Python infrastructure behind research workflows, from data pipelines to strategy backtesting to production handoff. This isn't a support role. You're embedded with the people making investment calls, and what you build gets used immediately.
What you bring:
  • Strong Python skills, ideally in a quant or research-heavy environment 4+ years of professional experience (internships don't count toward this)
  • Real interest in markets, not just the tech stack
  • Comfort working close to researchers, not behind a ticket queue
If you want ownership over research infrastructure at a fund where your code touches real trading decisions, let's talk.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
