Job Description: AVP•SEES Group is seeking two Optometrists to join its eye-care network in the Richmond, Virginia market. These opportunities are open to both experienced optometrists and new graduates. Residency training and medical optometry experience are welcomed but are not required. AVP•SEES is targeting two anticipated hiring timelines:
  • One Optometrist to begin within approximately three to four months
  • One Optometrist to begin within approximately seven to nine months
  • Candidates completing optometry school or residency training within either timeframe are encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do:
  • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered optometric care
  • Evaluate patients and develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans
  • Identify ocular conditions requiring continued management or physician referral
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other members of the clinical team
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and next steps
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes
  • Contribute to a collaborative and professional practice environment
What We’re Looking For:
  • Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Virginia optometry license
  • Strong clinical judgment and patient communication skills
  • Commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and patient-centered care
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and other eye-care professionals
  • Interest in establishing a long-term practice in the Richmond market
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply. The following qualifications are considered beneficial but are not required:
  • Optometric residency training
  • Medical optometry or ocular disease experienceExperience in an integrated MD/OD practice
  • Preoperative and postoperative co-management experienceExperience working alongside ophthalmologists
