About the role

Position Overview: Spectate Group, part of the Nicholas Family of Companies, is seeking a dependable Ice Technician to support the daily operation and maintenance of our ice arena. The Ice Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the ice surface and facility grounds. This position is responsible for ensuring a high standard of customer service and facility upkeep during public skating sessions, hockey games, private rentals, and special events. In addition, the Rink Attendant also provides light facility maintenance, building oversight, monitors safety conditions, and offers crowd control during high-traffic events and on-ice programs.
Primary Responsibilities: Safely operate the ice resurfacer. Perform regular ice maintenance and upkeep of the dasher systems. Maintain all equipment related to ensuring the highest quality ice including edger, ice resurfacer, compressor room, etc. Perform tasks throughout the facility related to cleaning, maintenance, and repair. Maintains crowd control during on-ice activities and large events Prepares and clears event spaces, including equipment installation and removal Provides score-keeping services for adult league games Responsible for keeping all areas of the facility clean and organized. Participates in snow removal operations, when required Maintaining a professional and organized demeanor when dealing with both internal and external guests and coworkers. Adhere to all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and professional work environment. Properly report and document incidents. Have excellent working knowledge of the facility as a whole. Perform other duties as assigned by Sr Ice Technician, Facilities Manager, or Regional Facilities Manager.
Qualifications: High school degree, or equivalent training experience required Previous experience with housekeeping, ice maintenance, and or building operations Must be able to lift 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 40 lbs Apply appropriate safety measures Provide insight into daily tasks, when necessary Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
