About the role

The manager is seeking a hands-on Automation Scientist/Bench Scientist who can immediately contribute to a busy wet lab environment supporting molecular biology and automation workflows. This is not a bioinformatics-focused position. While some software and data-related skills are beneficial, the primary need is someone with strong laboratory automation and molecular biology experience. The team is currently supporting increasing sample volume and needs an experienced scientist who can help implement, run, and improve automated laboratory processes. Must-Have Qualifications• Automated liquid handling platforms• High-throughput sample processing• Method implementation and workflow optimization• Laboratory automation troubleshooting Hamilton experience is highly preferred Molecular Biology Experience• DNA extraction• RNA extraction• RT-PCR• Molecular biology sample preparation• Sample QC/quality control• Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) sample preparation• Genomic and transcriptomic characterization workflows Wet Lab Experience• Processing large volumes of samples• Following laboratory SOPs• Working in a BSL-2 environment Preferred Background• DNA/RNA extraction workflows• RT-PCR• Genomics• Hamilton liquid handling systems• Automated assay development• High-throughput screening• Cell culture experience is a plus• Experience working with CHO cells is especially desirable• Recombinant protein expression knowledge is beneficial Focus is on candidates with strong molecular biology foundations and hands-on liquid handling automation experience, ideally Hamilton. The manager needs someone who can help build, implement, and operate high-throughput workflows in a fast-paced wet lab environment. Red Flags• No automation experience• Limited molecular biology background• Primarily computational or bioinformatics-focused experience• Pure software/data science background• Gene-editing research focus without relevant automation workflow experience

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
