The successful candidate will be tasked with leading the editorial programming, ensuring the execution of the editorial vision and strategy, and maintaining brand consistency. This role is pivotal in driving editorial priorities, particularly in the coverage of major and breaking news stories, and in fostering a collaborative, high-performing newsroom culture. The VP will be responsible for overseeing a team of executive producers, coordinating with various editorial and production teams, and making real-time programming adjustments as news events unfold. A key aspect of the position is to strengthen collaboration across the news division and to maximize editorial and production resources. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' experience in a national news organization, with a proven track record in editorial leadership and programming. The role requires excellent editorial skills, the ability to manage complex and sensitive reporting, and a history of acting in an entrepreneurial and proactive manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial acumen, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work under pressure, particularly during breaking news events. A background in investigative journalism, and a passion for both breaking news and innovative storytelling, are essential.
