We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to oversee our residential remodeling production operation and take ownership of the production pipeline from post-sale handoff through project completion. This is a senior-level position for someone who already understands construction operations, high-volume production management, scheduling, crews, materials, permitting, and problem-solving. We will train you on our systems, processes, standards, and order of operations, but we are looking for someone who already possesses the construction and leadership experience necessary to step into a fast-moving environment and take control. Our operation may involve 5–15 active crews and approximately 60 projects completing per month, so exceptional organization, communication, scheduling ability, and operational awareness are critical.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Director of Operations will oversee the flow of projects from post-sale through production and completion.
Responsibilities include:
Manage a high-volume construction production schedule across multiple crews and projects. Coordinate approximately 5–15 field crews and a pipeline capable of producing roughly 60 completed projects per month. Maintain visibility into every stage of the production pipeline and identify bottlenecks before they affect schedules. Coordinate project handoffs, site surveys, drawings, engineering, HOA requirements, permitting, material ordering, production, inspections, punch work, and completion. Ensure projects are fully prepared before being released to production. Coordinate crew availability, materials, permitting, inspections, project readiness, and customer expectations. Anticipate scheduling conflicts, material shortages, permitting delays, and construction complications before they become emergencies. Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as field conditions change. Oversee material ordering, purchasing coordination, warehouse organization, and inventory. Ensure field teams have the materials, drawings, information, and resources required to complete projects efficiently. Maintain accurate project documentation within company systems. Establish and enforce operational procedures, quality standards, and accountability. Identify inefficiencies and continuously improve production processes. Track outstanding issues and ensure projects continue moving toward completion. Help resolve complex construction, scheduling, customer, vendor, and production issues. Work closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, office staff, sales personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and company leadership. Construction ExperienceA strong construction background is essential. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in residential remodeling, exterior remodeling, homebuilding, or another high-volume construction environment. Working knowledge should include many of the following: Deck and porch construction Residential framing and construction practices Construction drawings and plan interpretation Engineering requirements Building permits and inspectionsHOA approval processes Material takeoffs and ordering Construction scheduling Crew and subcontractor coordination Material procurement and vendor management Warehouse and inventory management Jobsite logistics Project sequencing Change orders and scope changes Punch-list and project closeout procedures Direct experience with decks, porches, patios, exterior remodeling, or outdoor living construction is strongly preferred. Scheduling & Production Management Scheduling is one of the most important parts of this position. We are specifically looking for someone who has successfully managed a large, constantly changing construction schedule involving multiple crews and dozens of simultaneous projects. You should be comfortable balancing: Crew availability Project readiness Material deliveries Permit approvals Engineering Inspections Customer schedules Weather Subcontractors Production capacity Unexpected field conditions The right person will look several weeks ahead, recognize where problems are likely to occur, and make adjustments before those problems disrupt production.

Experience Requirements:
Preferred candidates will have:5+ years of construction industry experience Significant construction operations or production-management experience Experience managing multiple construction crews Experience managing a high-volume production schedule Residential remodeling or new-home construction experience Experience coordinating permitting, engineering, inspections, and material procurement Experience managing vendors and subcontractors Experience with warehouse and inventory operations Experience leading production personnel and holding teams accountable for schedules and performance Experience as a Director of Operations, Production Manager, Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager, Superintendent, or similar construction leadership position is strongly preferred. Total Compensation:
$100,000–$150,000 annually Final compensation will depend on experience, construction knowledge, operational background, leadership ability, and demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume construction environment. Who Will Succeed in This Role This position is best suited for someone who has already spent years inside construction operations and understands what it takes to keep a large number of projects moving simultaneously. We want someone who can walk into a production meeting, understand the status of dozens of projects, identify what is holding them up, determine what needs to happen next, assign responsibility, and make sure those items get completed. The successful candidate won’t simply maintain a schedule — they will own the production pipeline.
