About the role

Veterinary Ophthalmologist Opportunity Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES) is seeking a full-time veterinary ophthalmologist for its rapidly growing emergency and specialty hospital in Austin, TX. We are seeking an ophthalmologist to help provide outstanding care while contributing to collaborative medicine across all specialties within the hospital. The qualified individual should be self-motivated, efficient, and have excellent multi-tasking abilities. We are seeking an ophthalmologist who desires to provide the highest quality of medicine, top-notch client service, and a desire to establish long-lasting relationships within the veterinary community. AVES joined NVA Compassion-First in 2021, now ETHOS to network with other best-in-class specialty and emergency hospitals. Our specialty services include a 24/7/365 Emergency and Critical Care service, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Oncology, and Neurology. Cardiology services are provided daily by CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets. This opportunity allows the candidate to live in a diverse city and work with a hospital that considers their entire staff as part of a family. AVES continuously strives to maintain a positive culture amongst the staff, management, and the referring community. Austin is a diverse city with plenty to do when you are away from the office. Whether you are into music, ballet, world-class museums, one-of-a-kind shopping, or beautiful outdoor spaces, Austin has it all.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
