About the role

Imperium Construction Services is growing, and we’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help deliver carefully coordinated, high quality commercial spaces. We build commercial interiors, fitness studios, and retail spaces throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Washington, DC. Our team values quality work, clear communication, and delivering on our promises. You’ll work closely with our Project Managers, Director of Projects, and field teams to keep projects organized and moving from preconstruction through closeout.
What you’ll do: Manage submittals, RFIs, drawing updates, and project documentation in Procore. Develop and maintain submittal and procurement logs, identify long lead items, and track approval, ordering, and delivery dates to support the project schedule. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers on manpower, deliveries, and outstanding work. Support estimating, bid comparisons, purchasing, and subcontract preparation. Help track budgets, change orders, and project schedules. Prepare meeting minutes and follow up on action items. Visit jobsites, support field teams, and track punch list completion. Organize inspections, warranties, and closeout documents.
What we’re looking for: Two to four years of experience with a general contractor, preferably in commercial interiors. Ability to read construction drawings and understand trade scopes. Strong organization, clear communication, and consistent follow through. Ability to prioritize several deadlines and raise issues early. Experience with Procore and Excel. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant field experience is also valued. Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
The opportunity: You’ll work directly with experienced construction leaders and take an active role in delivering projects. As your skills and judgment develop, you’ll have the opportunity to manage larger portions of the work and advance toward a Project Manager role.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
