About the Company:
Our client is seeking a strategic VP of Consumer Lending to oversee a ~$938M consumer loan portfolio within a $2.44B asset credit union. The organization has been highly growth-focused over the last several years, expanding its branch footprint in Michigan and Florida, evaluating acquisition opportunities, and adding executive leadership positions as they continue to scale.
About the Role:
This role is primarily focused on portfolio strategy, KPI analysis, forecasting, credit quality, and identifying growth opportunities. Approximately 65-70% of the position is strategic leadership and oversight, with the remainder focused on team development and operational effectiveness. This role reports to the Executive VP of Member Experience.
Responsibilities:
Strategic, innovative banking leader with strong analytical and operational expertise. Lead consumer lending strategy, portfolio performance, loan production, and credit quality. Lead strategy, growth, production, and credit quality for a ~$938M consumer lending portfolio. Use data, KPIs, and market insights to drive portfolio performance and identify opportunities. Oversee consumer lending operations, underwriting, indirect lending, and dealer relationships. Build and develop high-performing teams through 3 direct reports and 32 total employees. Strong experience across consumer lending products, including auto, indirect, home equity, second mortgage, lease, RV, and credit card portfolios.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Mandatory 15+ years of leadership Mandatory 10+ years of Consumer Lending experience Mandatory Banking and/or Credit Union Mandatory Required Skills 15+ years of leadership Mandatory 10+ years of Consumer Lending experience Mandatory Banking and/or Credit Union Mandatory Strategic leadership in all facets of consumer lending including HELOC and Home Equity. Strong analytical and operational expertise. Experience managing large consumer loan portfolios. Ability to use data, KPIs, and market insights to drive performance. Team-building and people leadership skills. Wide breadth of consumer lending products, including auto, indirect, home equity, second mortgage, lease, RV, and credit card portfolios.
