Sales Manager | Safety-Critical B2B Manufacturing Central to East Coast Remote with Travel The Business Our client is a specialist manufacturer of elevator safety and communications technology, combining hardware with software and services in a highly regulated, specification-driven industry. It's a mid-size international group with several established product brands, manufacturing and R&D across the US and Europe, and a strong reputation for engineering quality. It sits within one of the most consistently well-run, financially disciplined listed groups globally, which gives it real resources and long-term backing alongside meaningful operating autonomy.
The Role: This is a newly created position. It gives the business unit a dedicated commercial leader for the first time, bringing account management, business development and specification selling under one remit. Lead, coach and develop a team of Account Managers, Business Development Managers and Consultant & Specification Managers across inside and outside sales Own the growth plan for the business unit, covering revenue, profitability and market share Turn specification wins into awarded projects by aligning consultant, end user and account activity across the opportunity lifecycle Run a disciplined commercial rhythm covering pipeline health, forecast accuracy, KPIs and CRMBuild senior relationships with key customers, consultants and industry influencers, and lead new product launches into the market Work closely with Marketing, Technical Support, Customer Experience and Product The Person 7+ years leading B2B sales teams, ideally selling technical, engineered or manufactured products Experience of specification-led selling or complex, multi-stakeholder buying cycles such as building products, life safety or access control. Elevator experience is a bonus, not essentialA track record of growing revenue and market share through a team, not only personal salesA hands-on coach who spends time in the field and holds people to high standards Comfortable with data and commercial tools such as Salesforce and Power BI
