About the role

General Operator Blackening: Rockford, Illinois Our customer in Rockford, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. Were recruiting General Operators Blackening to work full-time on 2nd shift. As a General Operator, you will be responsible for processing metal tools and parts through blackening tanks and supporting heat treating and finishing operations in a production environment. Responsibilities of the General Operator Blackening: Process metal tools and parts through multiple blackening tanks to achieve proper color and finish. Monitor parts as they move through different tanks for required time intervals. Perform heat treating, straightening, blackening, and saw operations as assigned. Regularly bend, lift, and maneuver parts throughout the production process. Use overhead cranes regularly to move tools and materials safely Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
General Operator Blackening Requirements and Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or GED required, or significant relevant work experience.13 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Ability to use required hand tools including drills, screwdrivers, and impacts. Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to wear required PPE including steel-toed boots or shoes. Pay for General Operator Blackening:$17.00/hour.
