Finance Manager – Government / Nonprofit Miami, FL (Kendall) $115K Base We are seeking a Finance Manager for a highly visible opportunity within a stable, mission-driven organization in Miami. This role is ideal for someone coming from a government, nonprofit, municipality, public agency, or similar public-sector environment who understands the unique financial requirements that come with public funding, grants, regulatory reporting, compliance, and fiscal oversight. What You'll Do:
The Finance Manager will serve as a key financial resource responsible for oversight, reporting, compliance and financial planning.
Responsibilities include:
Review budgets, financial statements, financial reports and audits Analyze financial performance and identify potential fiscal concerns Develop and manage corrective action plans when financial issues are identified Establish and improve financial reporting processes, templates and internal controls Manage state and federal grant budgets, reporting, funding requests and reimbursements Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with applicable requirements Coordinate with internal and external auditors Prepare required state and federal financial reports Develop budgeting tools, financial resources and reporting processes Work closely with senior leadership and external government agencies Translate complex financial information into clear recommendations for non-financial stakeholders Who We're Looking For The strongest candidates will have a background in government or nonprofit finance and understand the additional accountability that comes with managing public, restricted, or grant-funded dollars.
Key qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field 5+ years of progressive financial management experience Government, nonprofit or public-sector finance experience strongly preferred Experience with state and/or federal grants Strong budgeting and financial reporting experience Experience with regulatory compliance and audits Strong understanding of internal controls Ability to manage multiple funding streams and reporting deadlines Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical and communication skills
