About the role
Work closely with internal business partners, external service providers, and counterparties to investigate and resolve operational discrepancies and data exceptions. Must be able to work with front office people to ensure the accuracy of the trade blotter and records of the desk. Review exception reports and perform detailed analysis of breaks, identifying root causes and ensuring issues are escalated and resolved within established timelines. Execute daily reconciliations across cash, transactions, positions, valuations, and profit and loss data to maintain accuracy and consistency across multiple systems and data sources. Support the preparation and distribution of operational reporting, including metrics related to exceptions, aging items, processing efficiency, and resolution trends. Analyze information from internal records and external data providers to identify inconsistencies, provide commentary, and recommend corrective actions. Adhere to established operational controls, procedures, and governance standards to support a strong risk and control environment. Contribute to financial and operational reporting processes by validating the completeness and accuracy of supporting data and reconciliation results. Monitor reconciliation activities and service-level expectations, helping ensure that issues are identified, tracked, and resolved within defined deadlines. Support the investigation and resolution of discrepancies by coordinating with various stakeholders and maintaining clear documentation of findings and corrective actions. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve controls, increase automation, and reduce manual processing across operational functions. Partner with technology teams and external vendors to support system enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and improve platform effectiveness. Perform reconciliations of transaction, position, and valuation data across a variety of financial instruments, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and aligned across operational and accounting platforms.
