About the Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Supply Chain & Distribution Manager to join a growing life sciences organization in the Gaithersburg, MD area. This role will have significant responsibility across both pharmaceutical distribution and end-to-end supply chain operations, including 3PL management, serialization/DSCSA, supply and demand planning, CMO coordination, S&OP, inventory, forecasting, and operational project management. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of Supply Chain and Distribution management experience specifically within the pharmaceutical industry and be comfortable working hands-on across both day-to-day operations and higher-level planning. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite. Candidates should be local to the DMV area.
Key Responsibilities: Distribution Operations - 50%Serve as the primary point of contact and operational lead for third-party logistics providers (3PLs)Oversee and manage day-to-day 3PL operations Lead weekly 3PL meetings and track performance, operational activities, and changes Review, approve, and code distribution invoices Serve as the business lead for pharmaceutical product serialization activities Support compliance with DSCSA regulations Manage new product setup and support product launch activities Coordinate contract and pricing changes with 3PL partners Support month-end closing activities Lead audit support activities Develop budgets and forecasts Supply Chain Operations - 40%Manage end-to-end supply chain activities for assigned products/SKUsSupport supply and demand planning Coordinate operational activities with CMOs, including: Purchase orders Contracts Invoices Inventory Scheduling Shipments Work hands-on with Supply Chain Management systems Support maintenance and updates within Anaplan Supply and Operations Management Support and lead preparation for S&OP presentations and meetings Support month-end closing activities Assist with ongoing supply chain operational activities as needed Project Management - 10%Track project timelines, deliverables, and activities Support or lead product review meetings and brand meetings as needed Coordinate preparation of Board presentation materials Support additional cross-functional coordination activities Qualifications 5+ years of Supply Chain and Distribution management experience within the pharmaceutical industry Strong experience managing pharmaceutical distribution and 3PL relationships Experience managing end-to-end supply chain activities for pharmaceutical products/SKUsExperience with supply and demand planning Hands-on experience using Supply Chain Management systems Experience working with CMOs on operational activities such as POs, contracts, invoices, inventory, scheduling, and shipments Strong project management skills with experience tracking timelines and deliverables Ability to work cross-functionally across supply chain, distribution, finance, external partners, and product teams Must be local to the DMV/Gaithersburg, MD area and able to work onsite 3 days per week
Preferred Experience: Pharmaceutical product serialization Knowledge of DSCSA regulations Experience with Anaplan Anaplan model building and report development experience Experience supporting S&OP processes Product launch and new product setup experience Audit support experience Budgeting and forecasting experience
What We're Looking For: We are looking for someone who can operate comfortably across both distribution and supply chain operations. This person should be able to manage external 3PL relationships, oversee pharmaceutical distribution activities, work with CMOs, support supply and demand planning, and keep multiple operational projects moving at the same time. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the operational requirements of getting pharmaceutical products through the supply chain and successfully into distribution.
