CornerStone Medical is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant for a 13 week assignment with potential for extension. $50/hr Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm
Job Summary: A Pathologists Assistant is a trained allied health professional who provides anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist. Pathologists Assistants contribute to the overall efficiency of the laboratory by performing a variety of tasks, consisting primarily of routine gross examination of surgical pathology specimens and providing assistance in the performance of autopsies and preparations of case conferences.
Required Education: Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university AND successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program within the last five years. Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university with 20 semester hours (30 quarter hours) of biology, AND three (3) years full time acceptable experience as a Pathologists' Assistant within the last ten years. The three years of experience must be under the supervision of a pathologist (certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology). Preferred Education N/A Required Certifications & Licensure Pathologists' Assistant (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Must have updated immunization records, and pass a background check and drug screen
