About the role

About the Role: Join a vehicle software team developing and maintaining production software for autonomous maritime vehicles. You will work closely with infrastructure and hardware engineering teams to improve system performance and reliability in field operations.
What You'll Do: Develop and maintain production C++ software running onboard autonomous vehicles. Integrate sensors and physical subsystems, including power, battery management, propulsion, and control systems, into the onboard software stack. Investigate vehicle and software issues using telemetry, logs, test benches, and direct system analysis, then develop and deploy fixes across the fleet. Support new sensor integrations and expand mission capabilities as requirements evolve. Develop software for vehicle configuration, deployment, upgrades, and fleet migrations. Validate software and hardware integrations on vehicles and improve field reliability.
What We're Looking For: Three to five years of professional software engineering experience, including production C++ development at the boundary of software and hardware. Experience developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software on embedded systems, robots, autonomous vehicles, or other physical products. Hands-on experience integrating sensors and vehicle subsystems, and debugging issues using log data, telemetry, and test benches. Familiarity with embedded Linux, real-time operating systems, hardware bring-up, vehicle communications, or fleet diagnostics is beneficial. Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, defense, or maritime technology is relevant. Familiarity with Python and NVIDIA Jetson is useful. Must meet US Person eligibility requirements. Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $144,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. LocationHybrid, with three days per week in Alameda, California, United States.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
