About the role

Trades Helper - Alarm Assists in installing, modifying, maintaining, repairing and overhauling all alarm systems controls and P.A. systems. Ability to assist in maintaining, repairing and overhauling of all alarms and P.A. Central Systems Must have skills in Alarms Systems and P.A. Systems Working knowledge in additional functional areas Skilled in maintenance and repair procedures including, but not limited to, preventive maintenance, breakdown repair and troubleshooting Valid Texas Driver's License and a clear driving record Assists in performing alarm system testing. Assists in setting up preventive maintenance program on alarm Systems and P.A. systems and inspect control systems. Assists in maintaining tools, equipment and parts needed to repair Systems. Strong demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and system diagrams. Ability to follow through and carry out assignments, problem solving shells and sound judgment. Ability to understand and follow department policies and procedures. Work extra-curricular functions outside of regular assigned work schedule as requested to include football games, election days, weekends, etc. Works outside of regular assigned work schedule to repair and/or replace needed facilities to include night and/or weekend duty as requested. Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing during regular business hours to confer with district personnel. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job responsibility unless instructed to work from home by supervisor. Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Usage of personal equipment, including but not limited to personal cellular phone, personal computer, and personal internet service when working from home during a District closure due to government or Board order or during an emergency affecting normal District operations. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor. All employees are expected to comply with lawful directives. Maintain emotional control; ability to read, understands verbal instructions, and communicates effectively. Use electric equipment and electric drill. Some bending lifting and stooping while performing job related functions. Exposure to heat, cold, and dusty working conditions. Prolonged sitting Repetitive computer work with frequent use of hands and wrists Work from inside home or location other than school building Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours. Wage / Hour Status: Non Exempt Minimum Salary: $12.25 / hour Pay Grade: 2 Minimum Work Days: 260 / 262 Months: 12
