About the role

Your service matters. Your time matters. Are you a Veteran looking for a meaningful way to serve other Veterans? Consider being a Veteran volunteer with Elara Caring Hospice. Hospice patients who have served have unique perspectives that only other Veterans can understand. Pairing patients and volunteers who are both Veterans gives opportunity for connection, respect, honor and camaraderie. Elara Caring Hospice, one of the nation's largest providers of home-based care, is looking for compassionate Veteran volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice Veteran patients and their families. Elara Caring Hospice is looking for volunteers who will visit Veteran patients in local nursing facilities or in private homes. Veteran volunteers can also assist in honoring Veterans in pinning ceremonies, assist in Veteran-centered events, or organize Veteran volunteers for We Honor Veterans program activities. Hours are very flexible with volunteering on weekdays, evenings or weekends. Thank you for your service and your consideration!

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
