Revenue Integrity Specialist – Anesthesia Billing
Location: Palm Beach County, FLShort-Term Position - 4-6 months Schedule: Monday - Friday : 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $24.92 - $37.39 / hour
We are seeking a Revenue Integrity Specialist to support accurate medical billing for a hospital-based anesthesia provider group. This position reviews charges, coding, documentation, denied claims, and payments to identify errors and help ensure providers receive appropriate reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities: Review anesthesia records and charges to identify missing, duplicate, or incorrect billing. Verify documentation, anesthesia start and stop times, billing units, codes, and modifiers. Work with providers, coding staff, and billing teams to resolve incomplete records and billing discrepancies. Investigate denied claims, claim rejections, and underpayments; assist with corrections and appeals. Compare insurance payments with payer contracts and expected reimbursement. Track recurring issues, conduct focused audits, and recommend improvements to billing workflows. Use medical billing systems and Excel to reconcile information and report findings.
Required Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, revenue cycle, auditing, or revenue integrity. At least 1 year of direct experience with anesthesia professional claims. Working knowledge of anesthesia coding and reimbursement, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, time reporting, medical direction, concurrency, and payer-specific modifiers. Experience reviewing charges, researching denials, interpreting payment information, and checking documentation for claim accuracy. Proficiency with electronic health records, practice management or billing systems, and Microsoft Excel. High school diploma or equivalent, with additional education or training in medical billing, coding, health information management, or a related field. Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: CPC, CCS-P, or CANPC certification. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience supporting a hospital-based anesthesia group across multiple facilities. Familiarity with Medicare, Florida Medicaid, and commercial insurance requirements. Experience collaborating with external billing companies.
