JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Manager for a general engineering contracting firm. Preferred experience in Grading and/or Wet and Dry Utilities and/or Site Concrete and Asphalt Paving.
SALARY RANGE: We expect to pay a minimum of $90k and a maximum of $140k annually for this position. Actual pay may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
ABOUT OUR COMPANY: Mark Company has provided general engineering contracting services for over 50 years and has grown our capabilities and knowledge in all areas to meet our clients’ needs. In-house, Mark Company provides demolition, grading, wet utilities, dry utilities, curb gutters, walks and drives, and asphalt paving. Our work is primarily for Real Estate Developers and their General Contractors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the primary point of contact for the client for project coordination and communications. Review project contracts, drawings, reports, specifications, standards, and other documents. Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites. Prepare /facilitate material submittal process based on project requirements. Lead project meetings and provide progress updates to clients and internal teams. Identify unclear or problematic data and issue RFIs when necessary. Track project schedules and budgets; make internal adjustments when required. Ensure work complies with contract documents and local building codes. Prepare Job cost analyses and report production to the estimating team and superintendents. Accurately complete various takeoffs using computer software. Identify changed conditions and estimate change order requests with proper backup. Contract and oversee third-tier subcontractors. Negotiate Subcontracts. Purchase materials. Evaluate and suggest improvements after field-related incidents. Lead, train, mentor, and develop internal support staff. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Maintain and build positive relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams. Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 4-year college degree (Business Management, Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Management, preferred) and four years of work experience. OR Eight (8) years of work experience in project management with an emphasis on grading concrete, asphalt, wet utility, and/or dry utility trades. Ability to read and understand project documents. Strong understanding of industry-specific equipment, materials, terms, conditions, etc. Experience working with public utilities in Southern California. Ability to adapt to project needs and work overtime when required. Proven time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Strong organization, record-keeping, and leadership skills. Ability to meet deadlines and complete work on time. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness. Strong work ethic and desire to succeed. Demonstrates a tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal skills. Contributes to building a positive team Ethos. Experience with AGTEK preferred. Experience with Systems listed below. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy. SYSTEMS WE USEBid2Win - Estimating Software. On-Screen Takeoff Software – Used in quantity takeoffs and phasing plans. PlanGrid – Used to put all mark Co. project data out to Superintendents and foremen. Bluebeam Revu – Utilize Revu to modify/create bid proposals, compile phasing plans, plan markups, etc. Microsoft Excel – The ability to interface with multiple Excel documents simultaneously.
