About the role

Help build one of the largest data centers in the country. We're looking for a proven low voltage construction leader to join this major project in Monroe, LA. We'll pay for your relocation. In this role, you'll lead project managers and managers, own project financials, and drive every job to a profitable finish. This role requires all of the following: Low voltage and construction experience. You've worked hands-on in structured cabling, audio-visual, security, life safety, or a related technical construction field. Ownership of project profitability. You've managed budgets, forecasts, and financials, and you've delivered projects that hit profit targets. Leadership of project managers and managers. You've built, developed, and held accountable teams of project managers and other managers.
Job Summary: The Department Manager leads and directs all department activities, including staffing, materials management, financial performance, customer care, and on-time delivery. The goal is to run the department efficiently while consistently meeting profitability and customer goals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of project managers, managers, and department staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, supervision, promotion, discipline, and termination when needed. Drive project and department profitability by planning, managing, monitoring, and protecting margins to meet Company financial goals. Oversee scopes of work that may include structured cabling, audio-visual, security, life safety, estimating, or BIM.Manage workload distribution across the department to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Participate in and/or lead the bid process. Manage all quality and safety issues on customer work. Serve as the Company's main point of contact with customer representatives. Provide guidance and mentoring to meet all department goals and objectives. Manage human resource issues according to Company policies and escalate them as needed. Recommend performance ratings, promotions, and pay changes. Create, develop, and implement process improvements. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in low voltage, telecommunications, or a related technical construction field. Minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory or managerial experience, including managing project managers and/or other managers. Proven, verifiable track record of driving projects and financials to profitability. Proven ability to define a project, build the scope of work, develop detailed tasks, and manage the work through completion and customer turnover. Strong ability to read blueprints, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements. Experience working directly with customers as the liaison between the customer and the Company. Able to manage multiple projects at once and supervise multiple exempt and non-exempt direct reports. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, written, verbal, and presentation skills. Promotes the Company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. Able to learn Company and customer project management systems. Able to travel within the branch and/or regional territory as needed. Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Company-sponsored American Express card.
