About the role

An established international manufacturer of industrial equipment is seeking a Product Compliance Engineer to lead product compliance and regulatory activities across a diverse portfolio of engineered products sold globally. This is a highly visible role that works across engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, and leadership teams to ensure products comply with international regulations, safety standards, and certification requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Determine compliance and regulatory requirements for new products and engineered solutions. Ensure products comply with applicable domestic and international regulations, directives, and standards. Interpret changing regulatory requirements and drive implementation within the business. Support new product development teams with compliance guidance and technical expertise. Lead product safety reviews and regulatory risk assessments. Coordinate product certification activities with third-party agencies. Manage compliance audits and certification assessments. Investigate product compliance issues and implement corrective actions. Review technical documentation, product labeling, specification sheets, and marketing materials for regulatory compliance. Prepare compliance reports and submissions to regulatory authorities. Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to ensure ongoing compliance.
Experience & Qualifications: EssentialBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.5+ years of experience in product compliance, certification, regulatory engineering, or a similar role. Strong understanding of product safety standards and certification processes. Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and engineering documentation. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Experience working cross-functionally within engineering-led organisations. DesirableUL, CSA, TÜV or similar certification bodies. ASME Codes and pressure equipment regulations. Canadian Registration Numbers (CRN).Low Voltage Directive (LVD).Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).EMC Directive. Machinery Directive. Outdoor Noise Emissions requirements. Engine emissions regulations for North America and Europe. Rotating equipment, industrial machinery, process equipment, or similar engineered products.
