About the role
Student Employee - Dept of English - EWCAT Student Moderator Posted: 6 days ago
Pay: Competitive
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Description:
Student moderators for the EWCAT courses are ideally former EWCAT students and must receive recommendations from professors. Their job is to keep the student-led discussion focused and fair. This is a facilitation role during the 4 sessions per semester. Students receive group training and one-on-one meetings with the faculty to assist them with this portion of their job.
Outside of the facilitation job, student moderators are required to provide Ms. Child (currently the faculty coordinator) with a reflection report for each session attended. These reports are fairly detailed and provide the faculty with information on each student’s participation and the overall tenor of the meeting, along with the outcomes.
About the Company: Sam Houston State University is a public university in Huntsville, Texas.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
