About the role

Doula - Contingent - Metro Detroit (Henry Ford)In the United States, significant racial disparities exist in maternal morbidity and mortality, particularly among Black and Latinx birthing persons. Research shows that in addition to standard nursing care, continuous one-on-one emotional supportsuch as that provided by Doulasleads to improved labor outcomes. Studies have demonstrated that this support can shorten labor, reduce the need for analgesia and operative deliveries, and increase overall satisfaction with the birthing experience. Our mission is to enhance maternal health and well-being, reduce maternal mortality rates, and eliminate racial disparities in health outcomes. To achieve this, we integrate evidence-based practices, including the support of Doulas and Community Health Workers (CHWs), to guide and assist new and expecting mothers through a comprehensive network of social, emotional, and clinical care. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
