About the role

- Assists with structural analysis, design, and detailing for concrete, steel, and timber waterfront structures
- Assists with preparation of design concepts, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs
- Performs finite element static and dynamic structural modelling.
- Coordinates plan details with drafting technicians
- Works closely with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
- Assists with inspection of waterfront structures and preparation of inspection reports
- Learns Moffatt & Nichol quality and documentation standards
- Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 0-3 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required with 2-4 years of experience, also considered
- Working knowledge of structural engineering, including design and detailing for concrete, steel, and timber waterfront structures.
- Ability to perform finite element static and dynamic structural modeling; understanding of waterfront structural systems, material performance, and rehabilitation considerations.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Micro
- Station, structural analysis software such as STAAD or SAP, and Microsoft Office requiredEIT certification preferred.
- Growing understanding of applicable structural design codes and standards.
- Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
- Base Salary Range:$38.00 to $48.00 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting the required qualifications in the job description.
- Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market.
