About the role

Construction Equipment OperatorWe are seeking a skilled and dependable Construction Equipment Operator to join The Rusin Team. The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating construction and concrete equipment in support of commercial and residential concrete installation projects. This position works closely with the project foreman and crew to prepare jobsites, move and place materials, assist with concrete installation, and maintain equipment and jobsite safety.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate concrete and construction equipment used in commercial and residential concrete projects.Operate equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, forklifts, power buggies, concrete saws, compactors, and other equipment as qualified.Assist with excavation, grading, site preparation, backfilling, and material handling.Support concrete placement operations by transporting, moving, and positioning concrete and materials as directed by the foreman.Assist the crew with forming, reinforcing, pouring, placing, screeding, and finishing concrete when needed.Maintain proper equipment positioning and operation around workers, structures, utilities, and other jobsite hazards.Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns promptly.Properly use equipment controls and attachments according to manufacturer and company requirements.Load, unload, transport, and stage materials and equipment around the jobsite.Assist with cleanup, demolition, removal of existing concrete, and preparation of work areas.Follow project plans, grade elevations, layout markings, and instructions from the foreman.Maintain awareness of underground utilities, overhead hazards, pedestrians, and other workers while operating equipment.Perform routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning, greasing, fueling, and basic inspections.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and all required PPE procedures.Communicate effectively with the foreman and other crew members regarding equipment operation and jobsite conditions.Work as a team member and assist with general concrete construction tasks when equipment operation is not required.Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or project supervisor.QualificationsPrevious experience operating construction or concrete equipment preferred.Experience with skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, forklifts, power buggies, or similar equipment is a plus.Ability to safely operate equipment in residential and commercial construction environments.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Basic understanding of grades, elevations, measurements, and construction layout preferred.Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and identify basic mechanical or safety issues.Strong awareness of jobsite safety and surroundings.Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a crew.Strong work ethic and willingness to assist with general construction tasks.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.Valid driver's license preferred.Equipment-specific certifications or training are a plus.What Our Organization Is ProvidingFull-time WorkHourly Rate: $26 - $29Life InsuranceSick Pay (maximum 48 hours per calendar year as accrued)401K PlanRusin Concrete provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, genetics, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.
