Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Pittsburgh, PA Area | Continuing Care Facility$115,000–$125,000 Annual Salary + Full Benefits Build Your Nursing Leadership Career A well-established continuing care facility in the Pittsburgh area is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join its leadership team as an Assistant Director of Nursing. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN who is ready to take the next step into nursing leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, sound judgment, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine interest in leading and developing a nursing team. The ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing and other members of the leadership team to support day-to-day clinical operations and ensure residents receive high-quality, compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Nursing with the management and oversight of nursing services. Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff. Help ensure high standards of resident care and clinical outcomes. Support daily nursing operations, staffing, and scheduling. Assist with staff training, orientation, coaching, and development. Monitor clinical documentation, care plans, medication practices, and other nursing processes. Help ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and facility policies. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team. Assist with addressing clinical concerns and resident/family needs. Support regulatory surveys, audits, and inspections. Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff. Help foster a positive, collaborative, and professional nursing environment.
Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania required. Nursing leadership, supervisory, charge nurse, or preceptor experience is preferred. Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, senior living, rehabilitation, assisted living, or a continuing care environment is preferred. Strong clinical knowledge and nursing judgment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a nursing team. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. A commitment to providing exceptional, resident-centered care. Demonstrated interest in advancing into a nursing leadership position.
