About the role

We are working with an established construction services contractor that is looking to add an experienced Safety Coordinator to its team supporting active construction operations across Nashville, TN.This is a field-focused position for someone who understands construction safety and is comfortable working directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and field crews. You will be responsible for maintaining a visible presence across projects, identifying potential hazards and helping ensure company and OSHA safety standards are consistently followed.
What You'll Be Doing: Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits Identify hazards, unsafe conditions and unsafe work practices Complete job hazard analyses and risk assessments Recommend and track corrective and preventative actions Deliver new hire safety orientations and toolbox talks Support employee safety training and maintain certification records Assist with investigations into injuries, near misses, vehicle incidents and property damage Support root cause investigations and incident reporting Maintain OSHA, inspection, training and safety documentation Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and field personnel Participate in customer and General Contractor safety audits Support regulatory and third-party inspections Promote a proactive safety culture across active construction sites
What We're Looking For: Construction safety experience required Ideally 5+ years of relevant construction safety experience Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards Experience conducting jobsite inspections and safety audits Strong hazard recognition and risk assessment skills Experience with incident investigations and corrective actions Ability to communicate effectively with both field personnel and management Previous construction trade, field supervision or operations experience is highly desirableOSHA 30 preferred; must be obtained within 6 months if not already heldOSHA 510 preferred; must be obtained within 12 months First Aid/CPR/AED and additional construction safety certifications are advantageous Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between project sites
