This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong mechanical design, manufacturing, CAD validation, and technical documentation experience. No prior AI experience is required—your engineering expertise and domain knowledge are what matter most.Scope of WorkCreate and modify detailed parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies using FreeCAD or comparable CAD software.Develop comprehensive engineering drawings, including GD&T, dimensional requirements, and tolerance stack-ups, suitable for manufacturing handoff.Design components for manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, plastics, and injection molding.Perform CAD validation and quality assurance reviews to verify model accuracy, design intent, and production readiness.Prepare clear technical documentation, design notes, and assembly instructions for use as high-quality reference materials.Review and incorporate feedback from technical reviewers to improve CAD models, drawings, and supporting documentation.Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable.Identify and resolve modeling, dimensional, assembly, and manufacturability issues before production handoff.Required SkillsFreeCADParametric CAD ModelingMechanical Design3D CAD ModelingAssembly DesignEngineering DrawingsCAD Validation & Quality AssuranceTechnical DocumentationDesign for Manufacturing (DFM)GD&T and tolerance analysisManufacturing design principlesPreferred Qualifications2+ years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing environments.Strong proficiency in FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software, including advanced modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation.Hands-on experience with manufacturing considerations for CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, and injection molding.Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM best practices.Demonstrated ability to create production-grade CAD models and validate designs against real-world manufacturability requirements.Experience interpreting engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications, and technical documentation.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify CAD and documentation inconsistencies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting technical decisions and collaborating with reviewers.Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet project quality and delivery requirements

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
