About the role
Pharmacy Technician-SCThe Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in delivering pharmaceutical services to patients at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Clinics. This position supports daily pharmacy operations through prescription processing, patient service, inventory management, and administrative support. The technician operates under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and reports directly to the Pharmacist-in-Charge. Accurately prepare and fill medication orders under the direction of a pharmacist. Provide courteous and professional customer service to Tribal Members and the general public. Support and contribute to the mission, vision, and goals of the Pharmacy Department and the pharmacy inventory, ensuring proper storage and tracking of third-party insurance claims and resolve billing rejections. Initiate and manage prior authorizations with prescribers and insurance plans. Conduct and document Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) under the direction of a pharmacist in compliance with pharmacy audits by maintaining accurate records and other duties as assigned. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Must obtain Oklahoma Pharmacy Technician licensure during initial training if not already licensed. Current licensure must be in good standing. National certification (CPhT) preferred. Prior experience working with Tribal and Federal programs impacting Native American communities is preferred. Professional demeanor with the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with patients and staff. Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement. Ability to remain calm and perform well under pressure or in stressful and punctual with a strong work ethic. Proficient computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy software systems. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Valid driver's license required. Must pass a background check and drug screening. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time. Prolonged sitting, standing, or walking; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping; good finger dexterity and sensory perception; frequent repetitive motions; as well as talking, hearing, and visual acuity are required.
