Role Description: The Director of Community Management is a full-time, hybrid role based in San Diego, CA, with a blend of on-site community visits and work-from-home flexibility. This role oversees community association operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery, resident satisfaction, and adherence to governance documents and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading property management teams, developing and monitoring budgets, coordinating maintenance and vendor services, and resolving resident concerns in a timely, professional manner. The Director will collaborate with board members on strategic planning, community programs, and long-term capital improvements, while tracking performance metrics to support community health and resident retention. The role also involves mentoring staff, standardizing processes, and promoting best practices that align with N.N. Jaeschke, Inc.’s service standards and Associa® guidelines.
Qualifications: Strong customer service and resident retention skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships in diverse communities. Experience in budgeting and financial oversight, including developing, managing, and reporting on community association operating and reserve budgets. Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, meeting facilitation, and presentation abilities for boards and residents. Hands-on property management experience, preferably in community association management, including maintenance coordination and vendor management. Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and support community managers and onsite staff. Knowledge of community association governance, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements in California is highly beneficial. Proficiency with property management software, office productivity tools, and basic data analysis for reporting and decision-making. Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Professional certifications such as CMCA, AMS, or PCAM are preferred but not required.
