What You’ll Do:
  • Support the selection, evaluation, and qualification of metallic materials for advanced reactor systems, with a focus on steel alloys and high-temperature materials
  • Evaluate material performance including strength, fatigue, creep, corrosion, oxidation, thermal behavior, and high-temperature compatibility
  • Plan, support, and interpret materials characterization and testing, including mechanical, microscopy, thermal, and other applicable testing methods
  • Analyze technical and experimental data, support failure analysis and root-cause investigations, and translate findings into clear engineering recommendations and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and suppliers on material specifications, qualification plans, technical reviews, and materials-related engineering activities
  • More experienced candidates may lead materials qualification programs, supplier technical activities, materials strategy, and mentorship of junior engineers
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of relevant materials engineering or materials science experience, with flexibility for candidates holding advanced degrees Strong understanding of materials science, mechanical properties, and material behavior, with experience working with steel alloys, metals, or high-temperature materials Experience with materials characterization, testing, and data analysis, including techniques such as microscopy, mechanical, thermal, corrosion, or related testing Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams; experience with materials qualification, supplier technical management, ASME/NRC requirements, or regulated industries is a plus

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
