CNC Machinist II - 2nd ShiftThe CNC Machinist II operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts.
Shift hours: 2:30pm - 1:00am - Mon. - Thurs. Offering a $5000 sign on bonus for 2nd shift machinists! Key responsibilities include performing all tasks in a safe and responsible manner, reading and interpreting blueprints, properly and safely loading and unloading raw materials, proficient use of measuring instruments, and using gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance. Must be familiar with MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori Controls. Understands and can function using M and G codes. Must demonstrate a basic understanding of cutting tools. Properly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling. Understands and can perform basic tool wear offsets. Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery. Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment. Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department. Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures. Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures. Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management. Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input. Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant. Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills. Required skills and competencies include in-depth knowledge of CNC milling machines and operations, strong leadership and team management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, proficiency in using measuring instruments and tools, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Education and experience include high school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred. 1 year of experience in CNC machining. Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Physical and work environment requirements include frequently required to stand, walk, and reach during the duration of shift, 8-10 hours. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend. Frequently required to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds. Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated in the specific work area assigned. This position requires working night shifts. The work environment includes exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. Compensation: Pay: $29 - 33 Hourly (final rate is determined based on experience). Due to ITAR regulations, only U.S. personsdefined as U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), and U.S. nationalsare eligible for this position.
