About the role

The ARFF Driver/Lieutenant position is required to know every aspect of properly operating the ARFF apparatus in accordance with NFPA 1002, Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications. This position requires the employee to ensure the fire apparatus, and all associated equipment are inventoried and operational ready prior to and at the end of each shift. The Driver Operator is also responsible for supervisory and leadership of the shift, and the ability to serve as incident commander during an emergency. This position also requires familiarity with the site fire suppression systems, buildings, and flight line operations/processes.
Required Certifications: Firefighter 1 & 2 Hazmat Awareness Hazmat Operations Aircraft Rescue Firefighter (ARFF) Driver Operator - Pumper Fire Officer 1 Fire Instructor 1 Hazmat Incident Commander Underlined Certifications can be provided if needed. Required Training NIMS 100 – Introduction to the Incident Command System NIMS 200 – Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response NIMS 700 – An Introduction to the National Incident Management System NIMS 800 – An Introduction to the National Response Framework Traffic Incident Management Texas Class B (exempt) Commercial Driver’s License Scheduled Operational hours are 8am – 4pm, Monday through Friday. Flight operations may request additional hours before 8am, extend past 4pm, and on weekends.
