About the role

Technical Apparel Designer Now Hiring at our Pittsfield, New Hampshire Manufacturing plant for a Technical Apparel Designer. In this critical role you will be counted on following activities: Support pattern development, garment fittings, prototype evaluations, wear trials, and design reviews to ensure products meet fit, performance, and customer requirements. Create and maintain technical drawings, pattern libraries, tech packs, BOMs, and other design documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development process. Incorporate manufacturing and operations feedback into garment designs to support product quality and manufacturability. Support user-centered product development activities including wear trials, field evaluations, and customer feedback analysis. Contribute to cross-functional project teams developing new PPE products and product enhancements. Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required Minimum of 2 years of experience in multi-layer apparel design, technical design, product development, or pattern development. Strong knowledge of patternmaking, grading, garment construction, and fit evaluation. Ability to create and maintain accurate technical drawings and design documentation. Experience working with woven garment construction and an understanding of durability and performance requirements. Familiarity with CAD pattern-development software such as Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, CLO3D, or similar systems. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn new products, technologies, and processes. Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Preferred Experience with turnout gear, multi-layer workwear, uniforms, outdoor equipment, military apparel, or other technical garment categories. Hands-on sewing experience and understanding of garment construction techniques. Experience building prototypes or modifying patterns during product development. Exposure to wear trials, user testing, or customer feedback programs. Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Education and Experience: Required Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Apparel Product Development, Textile Design, Apparel Design. Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in multi-layer apparel design, technical design, pattern development, or garment product development. Demonstrated knowledge of patternmaking, grading, and garment construction.
