About the role

Political Law Associate Our client, a highly reputable top AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a Political Law Associate to join its practice in Washington, D.C. This firm is seeking between 4 and 6 years of experience providing strategic counsel and compliance advice to clients on matters related to lobbying and public policy, campaign finance, gift and entertainment rules pay-to-play laws and non-profit law. Congressional investigations experience will be considered a plus! Important: this firm is decisive on its search for candidates whose experience aligns between the 4-6 year range and are not seeking senior or counsel level backgrounds for this role. This is a wonderful opportunity for junior to mid-level candidates seeking tangible, long-term growth in a collegial environment of an AmLaw firm. The estimated salary range for this position is $250,000 – $320,000 (annually) and may vary depending on experience and other factors.
Note: Effective January 1, 2027, the annual salary range for this position will automatically increase to the new range between $270,000 to $330,000.
Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong J.D. GPAMust be authorized to work in the U.S.; will not sponsor Active bar license in D.C. or ability to waive in immediately Between 4 and 6 years of relevant political law experience; some post-JD firm experience preferred Experience advising clients on matters related to lobbying and public policy, campaign finance, gift and entertainment rules pay-to-play laws and non-profit law; Knowledge of the Federal Election Campaign Act, Lobbying Disclosure Act, Ethics in Government Act Strong written and oral communication skills Comfortability in a collegial, fast-paced environment; comfortable being client-facing
