Our company is currently searching a member to join our Production team as a Production Manager who will work to provide support across our plant. This position will work within a team of other production staff and will be based in our Chicago, IL facility. This role will require candidates to be able to work Monday - Friday typically 6am - 2:30pm and other times as needed to meet business needs.
Key Role and Responsibilities:
Ensure all production lines are operating at proper speeds and proper output levels while adhering to company's established quality policies and productivity standards.
Oversee all production supervisors, crews, and janitorial staff
Maintain efficient and safe working conditions of all machines
Manage all plant start-up and shutdown procedures
Ensure all quality control procedures are implemented and adhered to company standards
Manage raw material receiving procedures and notify management of any concerns
Ensure strict compliance and adherence to all established health, safety, and environmental policies.
Manage and coordinate production schedules and provide completion estimates based on manpower and equipment availability.
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain machine functionality
Ability to coach and train new hires and production supervisors on all machines and continually develop existing employees on building proficiency.
Manage employee disciplinary and accountability procedures when needed
Proper understanding of raw materials and verify correct blend of materials for each product line.
Other duties may be assigned at times to meet facility and company needs.
Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required.
5-7 years previous manufacturing experience in a leadership role
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Ability to work independently and has excellent organizational and leadership skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions
Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Able to multitask and manage competing priorities
Working knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
Ability to supervise and lead team, promote teamwork, and champion company culture
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes
General computer skills including use of manufacturing software
Ability to climb stairs and ladders regularly
